Maintenance/Inspection
Recommended Inspection (may coordinate with AED inspection when
applicable):
Visual
Inspection
Once a month check to confirm:
1. Time remaining gauge is in the GREEN range.
2. Flow indicator
is RED and connections to it are secure.
3. CPR mask is present and clean; cushion is at least half inflated,
elastic strap is attached,![]()

one-way valve is attached
and completely seated in mask.
4. Tubing is intact and securely attached to
CPR mask and regulator hose barb.
5. Portable pin is present and attached to handle
plate by chain.
6. Components are clean and dry.
Operational
Inspection
Initially and once every 6 months thereafter:
1. Pull the cylinder-regulator off the stationary pin to confirm operation.
2. Check for flow (i.e., flow indicator is GREEN and hear oxygen "hiss"),
then reset back on pin.
3. Perform monthly-recommended inspection (see above).
Return the unit to an authorized supplier for hydrostatic
cylinder testing and regulator conformance verification.
(Note: this step may also be performed at time of refill)
It is recommended that the inspecting party document and/or tabulate the above inspections.
